One thing we know: Hardcore bands from Brazil have a very unique way of making hardcore, always very aggressive and lyrically well developed, always describing the chaotic life of the brazilians and showing revolt without any filter, straight to the point.
And for sure, TOSCO is a band that deserves the place among all these Brazilian Hardcore bands, combining it with a little bit of Thrash Metal, doing what we call Thrashcore, some times fast, like we see in the song "Hellvetia", and some times paced like we see in the song "Qualquer Ajuda".
The lyrics, as I mentioned in the introduction, are focused on the difficult daily life of Brazilians, something that certainly influenced the aggressive sound of these bands with a feeling of revolt, in the song "Isso Aqui Não Tem Jeito" criticizing politicians who never do anything and which are defended by some, the cadenced and heavy "O Brasil é o Crime" talking about corruption, and so on throughout the album, always on top of politics, nonconformity, revolt, etc.
The album also features the participation of Dave Austin, guitarist of the legendary band Nasty Savage, in the song "Hellvetia", a traditional Thrash Metal. In addition, at the end of the album we have a cover song from Korzus, giants of Brazilian Thrash Metal, with the song "Guerreiros do Metal". It is worth mentioning that the band currently has bassist Carlos Diaz, also know for being a member of the legendary Vulcano.
Highlights for the tracks "Isso Aqui Não Tem Jeito", "O Brasil é o Crime", "Nada Tá Bom" and "Tropa Z" (my favorite).
Without abusing the technique or producing something repetitive and tiring, Tosco makes a sound on the edge, exploring the lyrical content well and showing the unique face of Brazilian Hardcore.
